Technial Tours

The following tours will be organized for those registered participants and accompanying persons in the afternoon of August 20th 2009 and included in the registration fee. Please indicate your preference on the registration form. Early registration is advised due to the limited availability.

Please reconfirm your tour route and pick up your ticket at the Tour Counter at the Registration Desk before Wednesday August 19.

T1. Agricultural Market Tour

This tour will take the participants to visit the largest wholesale market of farm products in Beijing, Beijing Xinfadi Farm Product Co., Ltd, a leading enterprise for the "Vegetables Basket" project of Beijing city and serving to meet nearly all the demand of Beijing consumers for vegetables and fruits; and also an important distributing center of farm products in north regions of China.

T2. Agricultural Processing Tour

This tour will take the participants to visit some of the sophisticated agricultural processing groups situated around Beijing. The tour invites you to have a close look at the agricultural processing enterprises that are fuelling the booming Chinese economy, watch how fruit from over 200 000 hectares of the country's orchards is turned into juice for domestic and international markets and how each bottle of beer (wine) is made from agricultural products that are carefully cultivated in China.

T3. Greenhouse and Vegetable Production Tour

This tour will take the participants to visit one of Beijing's high-tech agricultural production bases or greenhouses established after the reform, which integrate high technology with traditional farming techniques, and serve as a platform for demonstration of modern agriculture. The exhibits of agricultural high-tech results include the soil-less vegetable cultivation plant, plant tissue culture workshop, edible fungi processing and sales of green agricultural products, and various species of plants.

T4. Rural Village Tour

This tour will take the participants away from the urban area of Beijing to visit a rural Village, seeing how suburban farmers live, how they work and what they have achieved after 30 year's reform. Participants may also have a chance to visit farmer's house and talk to local farmers face to face.
