The Programme Committee of the XXVII IAAE Conference in Beijing (August 16-22, 2009) invites submission of manuscripts for contributed papers. The Conference theme will be: The New Landscape of Global Agriculture
A committee comprising Bernhard Brümmer, Shenggen Fan and Stephan von Cramon-Taubadel will manage the contributed paper process.
An important change to be introduced for the 2009 Conference is that there will be a unified submission process for all contributed papers. All contributed papers will be subject to a blind peer review. Papers that pass this review process will be accepted either for oral or for poster presentation. All accepted papers will be considered refereed contributions and accorded equal status.
There will be five time slots for oral presentation of accepted papers over the course of the Conference. There will be between 10 and 15 concurrent sessions per time slot, with three to five papers in each session. Hence, the Conference will be able to accommodate as many as 250 to 300 oral contributed paper presentations. Whether an accepted paper is selected for oral presentation (and by extension how many oral presentations will be scheduled altogether) will depend on the availability related papers that together promise to make up a stimulating session. In addition there will be three sessions for visual presentations of accepted papers.
There are no restrictions on co-authorship. However, each co-author will be allowed to present only one accepted paper (oral or poster presentation) at the Conference. The deadline for submission of contributed papers will be November 30, 2008. Corresponding authors will be informed or the outcome of the review and selection process by April 15, 2009. The presenting author must be registered for the Conference by June 30, 2009, otherwise the paper will be withdrawn from the conference programme.
Manuscripts for contributed papers should be written in English and not exceed 4000 words (roughly 15-16 pages; the word count is binding). Papers should include a title page with an abstract, the names, affiliations and contact details of all authors, as well as three keywords. This title page does not count towards the 4000 word limit. Papers should be submitted in pdf format. With the exception of the title page, the manuscript should include no references to authorship (e.g. please check the pdf "properties" function to remove any references to the authors' identity; do not cite earlier versions of the paper).
A website for submission of contributed papers has been created and all submissions should be made at the following address:
